Watching the garden Grow

I know it is June and we are planting our garden, It is so foreign to me coming from Cali where you can plant in March if the weather permits. So we tilled the ground and added fertilizer (thanks to Rex) made some rows and planted. Another good thing is that the owner of the house hooked up a hose that runs from his garden that is water by irrigation that way we can keep watering our garden all summer and not worry about having to pay for it. We debated on putting down plastic to stop the weeds but then Brandon and I thought about it and what is a garden if it is not worked, tilled and weeded, we remember doing it as kids and so we shall pass it on to ours. Our crop includes, Lots of tomatos(roma, cherry and big old red ones) butternut squash, pumpkins, zuchinni, cantelope, strawberries, rasberry bushes (hope they come back, I think that got frozen when we first moved here)peas and beans. We are waiting to get a shipment of cucumbers and watermelon, if we do not get them this week we will just forget about it. So my goal is to keep a garden journal that way I can see what did and did not work for next year. I am only going to post about it once a week unless something exciting happens.

Janelle first of all thank you for my new look on my blog. You are so creative and I love that saying I think it will be the theme for our families. Second I am so excited for your garden. I am having fun watching my tomatoes come up and my bellpeppers. It is neat to be at this time in our lives

I wish I could water for free. I am so glad for you guys it seems like you have a great group living around you. It is comforting to know that no matter where you go the church is their and welcomes you and is there for you.
