The Polar Express

So we took a two hour drive to Durango Colorado where the town train puts on the Polar Express. We waited for the train to arrive, it is a real steam engine. When it pulls up the Engine driver waves, and then each car has one of the Hot chocolate characters onboard to host. We get to see the train pull in and then we climbed aboard. The Conductor came around and punched everyones ticket just like in the movie, London had whole puches all over in her hair. Then they seved us Hot chocolate and a rice krispie treat. All the while the train was headed to the North Pole and playing the music from the movie. Then they read the book, luckly I had a copy to follow along with. Then we arrived at the north pole, we got to open the windows of the train and peek our heads out at Santa and his reindeer. Santa hopped aboard and on our way back to the train station we sang carols and Santa paid us a visit and gave each child who believed a bell. Oh yeah and one more thing our seats turned around just like in the movie during the hot chocolate part so we all got to sit together. It was sooooo fun. Not only for the girls but for us Adults to. I can remember being in Kindergarten and having my teacher Mrs. Jafkee read this book to me and hope that the Polar Express would pick me up. It was fun to actually experience it for me and through a child's eyes.

OMg, my kids would LOVE that. We actually just watched the movie for the first time last night. What a great experience, I'm sure London will treasure that for many years!
